Atlas Edge 501 8-Camera Bluetooth Wheel Alignment System
The Atlas Edge 501 is a cabinet-style wireless wheel alignment system built around four 8CCD sensor heads and Bluetooth data transmission. Its eight-camera optical layout establishes measurement paths around all four sides of the vehicle, allowing the system to calculate conventional alignment angles as well as front and rear setback information.
This ATEATEDGE-501-4PT-P configuration uses traditional four-point wheel clamps. The clamps fit 10-inch to 24-inch wheels and require runout compensation as part of the alignment procedure.
8-Camera Measurement
The Edge 501 uses cameras facing across both the front and rear axles to create a closed measurement field around the vehicle. Atlas documentation notes that this arrangement provides rear setback information and allows the system to monitor sensor calibration status.
Traditional 4-Point Clamp Package
The four-point package uses self-centering wheel clamps with removable claws. Unlike Atlas's 3-point FastClamp configuration, the traditional clamp package requires the normal runout-compensation procedure.
Cabinet-Based Alignment Station
The system includes a mobile cabinet with integrated computer equipment, a color monitor, keyboard, printer housing, and charging connections for the wireless sensor-head batteries.
Edge 501 Features
Bluetooth Wireless Data Transmission
The alignment sensor heads communicate wirelessly with the system, reducing cable management around the vehicle during measurement and adjustment.
8CCD Optical System
Four sensor heads create measurement paths around all four sides of the vehicle for a closed optical measurement field.
Four-Point Wheel Clamps
This configuration includes four traditional self-centering clamps for 10-inch to 24-inch wheels.
Lightweight Sensor Heads
Atlas lists each sensor head at approximately 8 lbs to simplify mounting and handling during alignment procedures.
Sensor-Head Controls
The four-key control layout allows common alignment functions to be operated from the console or directly from a sensor head.
Rear Setback Measurement
The eight-camera configuration provides measurement between the rear wheels as well as the front wheels, allowing calculation of rear setback in addition to standard alignment measurements.
Calibration Monitoring
The closed measurement field allows the Edge 501 to monitor sensor calibration status and alert the operator when calibration may be required.
Spoiler Program
The alignment software includes a spoiler program intended for vehicles with low front air dams that may interfere with normal sensor sight lines.
Vehicle Database & Software
The system includes a vehicle specification database and Atlas lists software updates for the alignment software. Vehicle specification database updates may be handled separately.
