Will the EW10-BMC-QC Fit Your Bay?
This is a below-grade pit install, not a surface-mounted lift with a ceiling-clearance question -- the numbers that matter are pit depth/footprint and drive-thru clearance, not overhead height. Your bay still needs the floor space for the excavation and the finished cassette; Alamo reviews your actual layout before you commit.
RISE HEIGHT
78"
working height, screw pads at top position
DRIVE-THRU CLEARANCE
88"
unobstructed space under the vehicle, lift down
WIDTH OVERALL
118"
cassette width across the pit
Send us your bay and pit layout and we will confirm the fit. Call (817) 865-3707 before you commit to a configuration.
Site Prep - What Your Pit Install Needs Before Day One
The prep list for a below-grade lift is longer than a surface-mounted one. If any one of them is uncertain, call us first.
Pit Excavation & Concrete
An inground lift needs a below-grade pit/cassette excavation in addition to standard concrete work -- installation scope is materially greater than a surface-mounted 2-post or 4-post. A site survey (soil/water table, existing slab thickness, utility routing) comes before any excavation.
Electrical
Challenger specifies 3HP, 208-230V, 60Hz, 1-Phase as the standard power unit on the EW10-BMC-QC. Confirm your panel and circuit against this before install day.
Air Supply
The lock release on this lift requires 90 - 120 psi of shop air. Plan the air drop as part of the install, not an afterthought.
Alamo does not just ship this lift and leave. We review your pit plan, coordinate the excavation and concrete work, install the lift, and come back for inspections.

Challenger EW10-BMC-QC

A standard inground cassette's bolster blocks exactly the space a technician needs to lower an EV battery pack or clear a wide-track vehicle's tires. The Challenger EW10-BMC-QC is an electric-hydraulic, extra-wide inground lift built to solve exactly that. The wide clearance allows lowering EV battery packs out of the vehicle without losing the space-saving benefit of a conventional inground cassette.

3-stage front and rear arms and double-telescoping screw pads give precise positioning when spotting vehicles, and the design needs only a single concrete pour to install (no bolster to drive over).

This configuration adds Bench-Mount Controls (BMC): the lift controls are mounted inside a workbench (by button or lever) for a cleaner bay aesthetic and more comfortable technician operation.

This configuration includes the QuickCycle™ (QC) upgrade, decreasing rise and descent time to maximize the earning potential of your service bay.

Who the EW10-BMC-QC Is Built For

  • Shops that need service-bay floor space back — the EW10-BMC-QC's cassette sits below grade, so the bay floor is clear whenever the lift is down -- no post footprint eating into walkway or parking space.
  • Shops servicing wide-bodied trucks, EVs, or exotics — 88" of drive-thru clearance is built for pulling EV battery packs and clearing wide-track vehicles that a standard-width inground cassette can't.
  • Buyers who value a sealed, contained lift mechanism — the fully-contained cassette tub eliminates the risk of hydraulic fluid seeping into the ground -- a real environmental and inspection concern with older inground designs.
  • Shops that want a cleaner bay and easier technician operation — Bench-Mount Controls put the lift controls inside a workbench instead of a stand-alone console, for a cleaner aesthetic and more comfortable day-to-day use.
  • High-volume bays where seconds per cycle add up — the QuickCycle upgrade meaningfully cuts rise and descent time versus the standard-speed unit, which pays back fastest in a high-throughput shop.

What the EW10-BMC-QC Is NOT Built For

  • You want a surface-mounted lift with no excavation or concrete work -- an inground lift is a bigger construction project than a 2-post or 4-post, not a drop-in replacement.
  • Your heaviest vehicle exceeds this model's rated capacity -- capacity is not a number to round up.
  • You don't need the extra drive-thru clearance -- the standard-width EV version in the same capacity class is a simpler, less expensive choice.
  • You don't have shop air available -- this lift's lock release requires 90-120 psi air supply.
  • You'd rather keep a simple stand-alone console -- BMC adds workbench-mount hardware you may not need.

What Sets the EW10-BMC-QC Apart

  • 10,000 lb. lifting capacity
  • Extra-wide drive-through clearance for wide-bodied and EV service
  • Allows lowering EV battery packs out of the vehicle
  • 3-stage front and rear arms
  • Double-telescoping screw pads for precise vehicle positioning
  • No bolster to drive over — single concrete pour install
  • ALI/ETL certified
  • Bench-Mount Controls (BMC) by button or lever, mounted inside a workbench
  • QuickCycle™ upgrade decreases rise/descent time

Installation Requirements

  • Below-grade pit/cassette excavation and concrete work, in addition to standard electrical and air-supply hookups.
  • Site survey (soil/water table, existing slab thickness, utility routing) required before installation.
  • Electrical service sized to 3HP, 208-230V, 60Hz, 1-Phase, run by a licensed electrician.
  • Shop air plumbed to the lift at 90 - 120 psi for the lock release.
  • Professional installation by a Challenger-authorized installer is strongly recommended given the scope of excavation and concrete work.
  • Alamo coordinates the pit plan, freight, rigging, installation, and startup as part of the purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions - EW10-BMC-QC

What is the lifting capacity?

10,000 lbs.

Why choose the EW10 over the EV1020?

The EW10's extra-wide drive-through clearance is purpose-built for wide-bodied vehicles and EVs, including lowering EV battery packs; the EV1020 is Challenger's standard-width inground lift.

Does it need shop air?

Yes, 90 - 120 psi.

What does BMC mean?

Bench-Mount Controls — the lift's controls mount inside a workbench (button or lever) instead of a stand-alone console.

What does QC mean?

QuickCycle™ — a hydraulic upgrade that decreases rise and descent time.

Why Buy the EW10-BMC-QC from Alamo Equipment & Service?

  • We plan the pit with you. An inground lift install starts with excavation and concrete, not a delivery truck -- Alamo reviews your bay layout before you commit to an EW10-BMC-QC.
  • We install it. Alamo coordinates the pit, concrete, electrical, and air-supply work end to end, then sets and commissions the lift.
  • We service it. After install, call the same equipment team at (817) 865-3707 for support.
  • We size it with you. At 10,000 lbs., we confirm this configuration against your vehicle mix and pit constraints before you order.
  • Freight and site coordination handled. This lift ships freight and needs a coordinated construction schedule; Alamo manages both.
