Most shops run a mix of cars, SUVs, and light trucks in tight bays. The Challenger CL10A-XP9-DPC-QC is built for exactly that problem: full Versymmetric® flexibility in a low-ceiling-friendly package, with Quick Cycle speed to keep the line moving. If your ceiling tops out at 12 feet, this is the lift that fits without compromise.

Versymmetric® Arm Technology

The XP9 carries Challenger's full Versymmetric® arm system — the same design found on their full-height models. You can spot vehicles in symmetric or asymmetric position without reconfiguring anything. Cars, crossovers, SUVs: load them in whatever position clears the doors and reaches the manufacturer's lift points. The directSPOT™ 3-stage arms (front and rear) eliminate the back-and-forth shuffle that wastes time on standard lifts. First-try spotting, every time.

QuickCycle™ Speed — 27-Second Rise

The XP9 rises in 27 seconds and lowers in only 17 seconds. In a production shop turning 8–12 vehicles a day, that cycle time advantage is real money. Most 2-post lifts run 45–60 seconds to full height — QuickCycle™ cuts that roughly in half.

Dual Pendant Power Controls

The dual pendant controls let your tech operate from either side of the vehicle. No stretching across the bay, no awkward angles when the car is up. Small ergonomic detail that adds up when you're running the lift 40+ times a week.

Adjustable Width Configuration

Column spread adjusts to match your bay. Overall width runs from 11' 6.5" to 11' 11" — wide enough for most vehicles, narrow enough to fit standard service bays without sacrificing door clearance.

Height Configurations — Built for Low Ceilings

The XP9 designation means this model is engineered for shops with 12-foot ceiling clearance — tighter than the standard 13'+ most 2-post lifts require. Overall column height is 11' 2" or 11' 8" depending on configuration. Height extension kits (2-ft or 3-ft) are available if your ceiling gives you room to grow. Minimum concrete: 4 inches at 3,000 PSI. Anchors included.

A shop buying from a box-drop retailer gets a pallet. A shop buying from Alamo gets a partner — we sell it, install it, service it, and inspect it. Call (817) 865-3707.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Challenger CL10A-XP9-DPC-QC ALI certified?

Yes. ALI/ETL Listed and Gold Label certified — meets the Automotive Lift Institute's highest safety standards.

What does XP9 mean on a Challenger lift?

XP9 is Challenger's low-ceiling column configuration. Requires only 12' clearance vs 13'3"+ for standard height models. Built for tight-ceiling shops.

What ceiling height does the CL10A-XP9 need?

Minimum 12 feet from finished floor to lowest overhead obstruction. Measure before ordering.

What is the lifting capacity?

9,000 lbs. Handles most cars, crossovers, SUVs, and light trucks. For vehicles over 9,000 lbs consider the Challenger E15 or 4-post.

What is Versymmetric and how does it differ from standard asymmetric?

Versymmetric does both symmetric and asymmetric loading in the same lift — no reconfiguring. Plus directSPOT 3-stage arms eliminate vehicle shuffling. Challenger exclusive.

What concrete is required?

Minimum 4" thick, reinforced, 3,000 PSI. Anchor bolts included. Consult installer if slab is thinner or unreinforced.

Does Alamo offer installation?

Yes — professional installation, annual inspections, ongoing service nationwide. Call (817) 865-3707.

How fast does the XP9 raise a vehicle?

27 seconds rise, 17 seconds lower with QuickCycle™. Standard lifts run 45–60 seconds.

Best For

✓ Shops with 12-foot ceilings (XP9 low-ceiling design)

✓ General auto repair bays — cars, crossovers, light SUVs

✓ Upgrading from an entry-level lift to ALI-certified commercial grade

✗ Not ideal for heavy-duty trucks over 9,000 lbs (consider CL12 or E15)

✗ Not ideal for ceilings under 12 feet

✗ Not ideal for shops needing full 74"+ rise height (standard CL10AV3 gives 74.125")
