Graco SDM8 Electronic Manual Oil Meter, Rigid, 1/2" NPT #25M404
The Graco #25M404 is an SDM8 electronic manual dispense meter for lube bays, quick-service shops and fleet garages that dispense bulk oil all day and want every quart on the record: flow stays at the operator-controlled handle while the LCD counts what left the hose — pints, quarts, gallons or liters, factory-set to quarts.
This is the rigid-extension configuration, suited to wall, bench and overhead dispense points where the fill neck lines up with the hose. A single set of four AA alkaline batteries powers the meter (Energizer E91 recommended).
Where It Fits
- Threads onto a standard 1/2 in. NPT bulk oil hose
- The outlet is a 3/4 in–16 straight-thread O-ring boss that accepts SD-series nozzle assemblies — this configuration ships with the automatic quick-close oil nozzle (replacement part 17R220)
- Rated for petroleum- and synthetic-based crankcase oil, ATF and gear oils (antifreeze and windshield-wash service are on other SD-series models)
Fitment & Setup
This is the oil-service SDM8: it ships with the automatic quick-close oil nozzle. For antifreeze dispense, Graco's SDM8 antifreeze models (25M405 rigid / 25M407 flexible) run the antifreeze nozzle at 8 gpm; for flows above 8 gpm, the SDM18 high-flow models (25M410 and up) carry the same metering electronics. Confirm your inlet size (1/2 in. NPT) and extension preference before ordering.

How accurate is it?
Graco rates SD-series dispense accuracy at ±0.5% — tested at 2.5 gpm, 70°F, with 10-weight oil and 1 gallon dispensed. Flow rates are tested in 10W motor oil and vary with fluid pressure, temperature and viscosity; the meter can be calibrated to your fluid and pressure.
What keeps it running?
Four AA alkaline batteries (Energizer E91 recommended). At service time, the SD-series repair manual (3A5413) covers the nozzle, extension, swivel/filter and O-ring replacement parts.
Will it survive the bay?
Wetted parts are aluminum, stainless steel, PBT and nitrile rubber with zinc- and nickel-plated carbon steel. Warranty is 5 years on structural components, 3 years on electronics, and 1 year on wear parts (o-rings, seals, valves).
