Graco SDM8 Electronic Manual Oil Meter, Flexible, 1/2" NPT #25M406
The Graco #25M406 is the SDM8 oil meter for bays where the fill neck is not in a straight line from the hose: its flexible extension bends to reach oil fills tucked behind harnesses, under covers or deep in the engine bay on lifted trucks. Quick-service bays and mobile oil rigs use it to meter bulk oil — the display counts fluid dispensed while flow stays at the handle.
Display counts in pints, quarts, gallons or liters (factory-set to quarts) with a maximum recorded dispense of 9,999 units. A single set of four AA alkaline batteries powers the meter (Energizer E91 recommended).
Where It Fits
- Threads onto a standard 1/2 in. NPT bulk oil hose
- The outlet is a 3/4 in–16 straight-thread O-ring boss that accepts SD-series nozzle assemblies — this configuration ships with the automatic quick-close oil nozzle (replacement part 17R220)
- Rated for petroleum- and synthetic-based crankcase oil, ATF and gear oils (antifreeze and windshield-wash service are on other SD-series models)
- The flexible extension is replaceable (part 16Y863) per the SD-series repair manual — useful when a bay takes a beating
Fitment & Setup
This is the flexible-extension, oil-service SDM8. For antifreeze dispense, Graco's SDM8 antifreeze models (25M405 rigid / 25M407 flexible) run the antifreeze nozzle at 8 gpm. If your dispense points are all straight-line drops, the rigid 25M404 is the simpler setup. Confirm your inlet size (1/2 in. NPT) before ordering.

How accurate is it?
Graco rates SD-series dispense accuracy at ±0.5% — tested at 2.5 gpm, 70°F, with 10-weight oil and 1 gallon dispensed. Flow rates are tested in 10W motor oil and vary with fluid pressure, temperature and viscosity; the meter can be calibrated to your fluid and pressure.
Does it read in liters?
Yes — pints, quarts, gallons or liters, factory-set to quarts. It records up to 9,999 units dispensed.
Will it survive the bay?
Wetted parts are aluminum, stainless steel, PBT and nitrile rubber with zinc- and nickel-plated carbon steel. Warranty is 5 years on structural components, 3 years on electronics, and 1 year on wear parts (o-rings, seals, valves).
