Samson 27 Gal Waste Oil Suction Unit #3726

The Samson 3726 is a mobile 27-gallon waste oil suction unit designed for extracting used oil directly through a vehicle's dipstick tube. Its compressed-air-powered Venturi system creates vacuum inside the steel reservoir, allowing the unit to operate remotely after vacuum has been established.

Designed for service shops, quick-lube operations, fleets and vehicle maintenance facilities, the 3726 provides a convenient alternative to gravity draining when access through the dipstick tube is appropriate. Once collected, used oil is discharged through the hose by safely pressurizing the reservoir according to Samson's operating procedure.

Product Features

  • 27-gallon / 100-liter mobile steel reservoir
  • Venturi vacuum system powered by shop compressed air
  • Can operate remotely after vacuum is created inside the reservoir
  • Approximate 2 minute 30 second full-vacuum time
  • 42-liter effective suction volume after a complete vacuum cycle
  • Vacuum gauge provides visual indication of operating vacuum
  • Pressure discharge through the unit's discharge hose
  • Maximum reservoir discharge pressure of 0.5 bar
  • Mobile configuration for movement between service bays
  • Includes Samson 8-piece wand / probe kit

How the Suction System Works

Close the suction and discharge valves and use the unit's compressed-air vacuum system to evacuate the reservoir. Samson specifies approximately 2 minutes 30 seconds to reach a complete vacuum. Once sufficient vacuum is established, the appropriate probe or connector is inserted through the vehicle's dipstick tube so that it reaches the lowest point of the crankcase.

Opening the suction valve allows used oil to flow into the reservoir. Samson specifies an effective suction volume of approximately 42 liters following a complete vacuum cycle.

Important: Warm oil is easier to extract. Samson's troubleshooting instructions recommend running the vehicle engine for a few minutes before suction when the oil is cold. Always follow the vehicle manufacturer's service procedures and the Samson operating manual.

Pressure Discharge

The 3726 uses pressure discharge to empty the reservoir. Samson instructs the operator to connect compressed air to the charge valve using a tire inflator, pressurize the container to 0.5 bar maximum, and open the discharge-hose valve.

Safety: Never exceed 0.5 bar when emptying the reservoir and never manipulate the safety valve. Samson states that the safety valve limits internal pressure to 0.5 bar.

Published Suction Performance

Ø5 mm Probe 2.0 L/min
Ø8 mm Probe 4.1 L/min
Mercedes Probe 7.1 L/min

Samson publishes these rates using SAE 30 oil at 80°C. Actual extraction time varies with oil temperature, viscosity, probe diameter and vehicle configuration.

Included Wand & Probe Kit

Samson's current catalog lists the 3726 with an 8-piece wand kit. Service documentation identifies the probe system as including VAG and Peugeot connectors along with metallic and flexible suction probes in multiple diameters and lengths.

A Mercedes connector, Samson #737957, is listed separately in the service manual for applications requiring that connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Samson 3726 require electricity?

The suction system operates using compressed air and a Venturi vacuum system. Follow Samson's manual for the required air connection and operating procedure.

How much oil can it suction after a full vacuum?

Samson specifies an effective suction volume of 42 liters after the reservoir reaches a complete vacuum.

Is this a gravity drain too?

No. Model 3726 is Samson's oil suction unit. For combined suction and gravity collection, Samson lists separate models such as the 3725.

How is the reservoir emptied?

The reservoir is emptied through its discharge hose using compressed air. Samson specifies a maximum reservoir pressure of 0.5 bar during discharge.

What fluids is the 3726 designed for?

Samson lists synthetic oil, mineral oil and used oil for this suction-unit family.
