Atlas 6MR — 6,000 lb Portable Mid-Rise Scissor Lift
Not every bay wants a permanent lift — the tire quick-bay, the detail corner, the multi-use garage that becomes a workspace and then a floor again. The Atlas 6MR is built for that rhythm: a 6,000 lb free-standing mid-rise scissor that rolls to the work on its own motor-stand cart, lifts to 53 1/2 inches with adapters, and lies down at 5 3/4 inches when the bay needs to be a floor again.
It's commercial grade — dual hydraulic cylinders, a single-point manual lock release with seven locking positions, and 24-inch arms — and it ships with both truck adapters and sliding car adapters, so the vehicle mix isn't a problem either.
Who the Atlas 6MR Is Built For
- Tire and brake quick-bays that need the floor back — a free-standing portable scissor rolls in for the job and stores flat at 5 3/4"; no permanent install, no floor commitment.
- Detail and body shops — 53 1/2" of working rise puts wheels at a comfortable height without a lift bay at all.
- Multi-use garages — the separate motor stand doubles as the dolly that moves the lift, so one bay can be a lift bay today and parking tomorrow.
- Techs working a varied vehicle mix — 6,000 lbs with longer 24" arms, and both truck adapters and sliding car adapters included in the box.
- Shops on residential-style power — 110 volts (plug not included), no dedicated commercial circuit required.
What the Atlas 6MR Is NOT Built For
This is not a full-rise service lift — at 53 1/2 inches it's wheel-service height, not standing underbody height (see the TPF-9/TPO-9 two-posts for that). It's not for anything over 6,000 lbs, not for alignment work, and the 2–6 inches of adapter clearance between the platform and the vehicle's lifting points (a function of its horizontal cylinder design) needs respecting.
Important sizing note: measure the 82" × 39" footprint, confirm 6,000 lb capacity against the vehicles, and allow 2–6" between the lift surface and the vehicle's lifting points (horizontal cylinder configuration) before purchase.
What Makes the Atlas 6MR Different
Portable by design
Free-standing with a separate motor stand that doubles as the dolly — the lift goes where the work is and the floor comes back when it's done.
- Free-standing / portable
- Motor stand doubles as dolly
- Stores flat at 5 3/4"
Commercial grade, not hobby grade
Dual hydraulic cylinders, a single-point manual lock release with seven locking positions, powder coat, and longer 24" arms — built for shop cycles, not weekend projects.
Adapters for the real vehicle mix
One set of four truck adapters and one set of sliding car adapters included — sedans and light trucks on the same platform without buying extras.
Best For
- Tire / brake quick-bays
- Detail & body shops
- Multi-use garages
- 110V power
Not Ideal For
- Standing underbody work (mid-rise)
- Vehicles over 6,000 lbs
- Alignment work
Atlas 6MR vs a full-rise two-post — wheels in the air vs underbody access
| Spec | Atlas 6MR (Mid-Rise Scissor) | Atlas TPO-9 (2-Post) |
|---|---|---|
| Max rise | 53 1/2" w/ adapters | 79 1/2" w/ adapters |
| Portability | Portable — rolls on its cart | Permanent install |
| Power | 110V | 220V 1-phase, 30A |
| Best for | Wheels, brakes, detail | Full underbody service |
| Floor commitment | None — stores flat | Full-time install |
The 6MR wins on flexibility and power simplicity; the two-post wins on working height. Many shops end up needing both.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions - Atlas 6MR
Is the 6MR really portable?
Yes — it's free-standing with a separate motor stand that doubles as the dolly. Roll it to the vehicle, lift, and roll it back out of the bay when the day's done.
What power does it need?
110 volts — and note the plug is not included, so have your electrician wire the connection. No commercial circuit needed.
What adapters come with it?
One set of four truck adapters and one set of sliding car adapters — both included in the box.
How high does it go?
53 1/2 inches with adapters — wheel-service height. Techs needing standing underbody access want a full-rise two-post instead.
