Low Rise ALI Certified
ALI Gold Label certified low-rise lifts — independently tested to ANSI/ALI ALCTV safety standards for the lower lift-height applications where certification is required by insurance or facility policies. Low-rise lifts raise vehicles 22 to 54 inches off the ground for brake, tire, and undercarriage service without full-height lifting. Low Rise ALI Certified FAQs
ALI certified short-rise and low-rise scissor lifts from Challenger, in roughly the 10,000 lb capacity class. These combine the quick-access convenience of a low-rise lift with third-party certification, which matters for shops whose insurance or dealership program applies certification requirements across all lifts rather than only the primary two-post.
Because insurance carriers and dealership programs generally apply their certification requirements to all lifts in the shop, not only the primary two-post. A non-certified low-rise unit can create the same compliance gap as any other uncertified lift.
The terms are used loosely across the industry and generally both describe lifts that raise a vehicle a limited distance off the floor for wheel, brake, and body-level work. The practical figure to compare is the model's stated maximum rise height.
Tire and wheel service, brake work, and body and detail access. It does not provide standing room under the vehicle, so exhaust, driveline, and general undercarriage repair still require a two-post or four-post lift.

Alamo provides certification documentation with certified lift orders on request, and models that lapse are removed from the certified collections on notification.
Installation must follow the manufacturer's instructions, which for anchored models includes correct anchoring into concrete meeting the specified thickness and strength. Deviating from the installation specification can compromise both certification standing and warranty. Equipment in this category holds significant loads, so deferring a safety-related repair is not a reasonable economy.
Select rated capacity at roughly twice the gross vehicle weight of the heaviest vehicle you regularly service. For a shop working passenger cars and light trucks, a 10,000 lb class lift covers the normal service population.
