Mobile ALI Certified Lift

A mobile column lift is a set of independent powered columns positioned at each wheel that raise a vehicle together. Columns can be moved and reconfigured, and sets can be combined to lift buses, trucks, and heavy commercial vehicles that fixed lifts cannot handle.

This collection includes ALI certified mobile column lifts from Atlas, Challenger, and Mahle, with set capacities reaching into the six-figure range for heavy commercial work. Capacity is typically expressed per column and as a total for the set.

Four columns is the standard set for a two-axle vehicle. Six or eight column sets handle three and four axle vehicles such as buses, fire apparatus, and heavy trucks. Total capacity must exceed the vehicle's gross weight with margin, and the axle configuration determines the column count.

Battery-powered columns move and operate without trailing cords, which suits large bays and outdoor or fleet yard work. Corded columns need power at each position but avoid battery charging and replacement. Battery units add charging routine to the maintenance schedule.

Mobile columns lift very heavy vehicles and are moved and repositioned constantly, so independent verification of the design and its safety systems carries real weight. Many fleet and municipal operations require certified equipment as a condition of use.

Columns transmit concentrated loads through their bases and require a floor of adequate strength and flatness across the whole area where they will be used, not just one anchor point. Confirm the specific model's floor requirement — this is a common oversight in fleet garages.

Operators need training in proper column positioning, synchronization, and load distribution. Maintenance includes lifting mechanism inspection, control system checks, and battery care on battery models. Follow the manufacturer's inspection schedule and keep records.
