Atlas TPF-9 — 9,000 lb Baseplate (Open-Top) 2-Post Lift
An overhead two-post doesn't care that your shop has a 10-foot ceiling — the beam is the problem, and the ceiling isn't moving. The Atlas TPF-9 is the baseplate, open-top answer: a 9,000 lb symmetric two-post with no crossbeam overhead, standing 111 1/2 inches so a low bay still gets a full 76 1/2-inch working rise (79 1/2 with adapters).
The floor plate carries the equalization instead of a top beam, so everything the ceiling would have blocked is at floor level — and the lift keeps the safety kit that matters: a spring-loaded Secondary Lock System, automatic arm restraints, and dual-point lock release.
Who the Atlas TPF-9 Is Built For
- Shops with low ceilings — 111 1/2" of column height fits the 9–10 ft bays that overhead-beam two-posts can't enter, no building modifications required.
- General-service bays on sedans, SUVs, and 3/4-ton pickups — 9,000 lbs with symmetric arms and a 98 1/2" drive-thru for the daily vehicle mix.
- Techs who spot symmetric and want it to stay that way — symmetric columns and arms on every lift point, with automatic arm restraints that engage on rise.
- Shops that value the safety kit — the spring-loaded Secondary Lock System (SLS) plus dual-point lock release is real redundancy, not a marketing line.
- Bays already verified for the install — 4" of 3,000 psi concrete and 220V single-phase on a 30 amp breaker — so the TPF-9 drops into a bay that's ready.
What the Atlas TPF-9 Is NOT Built For
This is not the lift for shops needing maximum under-lift clearance — the baseplate means floor-level hardware where an overhead design keeps the floor clear (see the TPO-9 for that trade). It's also not for anything over 9,000 lbs, not for ceilings so low that 111 1/2" plus a raised vehicle won't clear, and not for alignment work.
Important sizing note: measure ceiling against the 111 1/2" columns plus vehicle height at full rise, floor width (133 1/2"), and confirm loaded weight before purchase.
What Makes the Atlas TPF-9 Different
Open top — the low-ceiling two-post
No overhead beam: the columns stand 111 1/2" tall and the floor plate handles equalization, which is the whole reason this lift exists.
- 111 1/2" overall height
- Baseplate / open-top design
- 76 1/2" rise (79 1/2" with adapters)
Safety kit that earns its keep
Spring-loaded Secondary Lock System, automatic arm restraints, and dual-point lock release — the features that keep a 9,000 lb load predictable.
Comes ready to work
Adjustable screw-up adapters, a free 4-piece truck adapter set, free sliding arm adapters, and mounting hardware included — freight prepaid.
Best For
- Low-ceiling bays (9–10 ft)
- General service to 9,000 lbs
- Symmetric spotting
- Baseplate installations
Not Ideal For
- Shops needing clear-floor space (see TPO-9)
- Vehicles over 9,000 lbs
- Very low ceilings
- Alignment work
Atlas TPF-9 vs Atlas TPO-9 — same 9,000 lb platform, two ceiling answers
| Spec | Atlas TPF-9 (Baseplate) | Atlas TPO-9 (Overhead) |
|---|---|---|
| Overhead beam | None — open top | Yes — clear floor |
| Overall height | 111 1/2" | 144" (12') |
| Floor hardware | Baseplate at floor level | Floor stays clear |
| Lifting height | 76 1/2" (79 1/2" w/ adapters) | 76 1/2" (79 1/2" w/ adapters) |
| Drive-thru | 98 1/2" | 99 1/2" |
| Shipping weight | 1,400 lbs | 1,450 lbs |
Same capacity, same safety kit — the choice is your ceiling: low bays take the TPF-9, tall bays get the clear floor of the TPO-9.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions - Atlas TPF-9
What's the difference between baseplate and overhead two-post lifts?
A baseplate (open-top) lift like the TPF-9 has no overhead beam — the floor plate handles cable equalization, so the lift fits low ceilings. An overhead lift like the TPO-9 spans the bay with a top beam and keeps the floor clear.
Will the TPF-9 fit my 10-foot ceiling?
Very likely — the columns stand 111 1/2" (9' 3 1/2") with no beam overhead. Confirm vehicle height at full rise (76 1/2" to runway... plus the vehicle on the arms) against your actual clear ceiling.
What power and concrete does it need?
220 volt single-phase on a 30 amp breaker, and minimum 4 inches of 3,000 psi concrete. Hydraulic oil (3–5 gallons AW32/AW46) is not included.
Do adapters come with it?
Yes — adjustable screw-up adapters, a free 4-piece truck adapter set, and free sliding arm adapters are included.
