2 Post Hybrid

Hybrid 2-post lifts combine asymmetric column rotation with extended swing-arm reach, accommodating both standard passenger cars and longer-wheelbase trucks on the same lift without configuration changes. This collection covers 10,000 to 15,000 lb models from Challenger, Stratus, and Atlas — the practical choice for shops moving between sedans and full-size crew-cab trucks in the same service bay. Alamo Equipment is an authorized dealer with installation service nationwide.

2 Post Hybrid FAQs

Hybrid 2-post lifts combine asymmetric column rotation with extended swing-arm reach, accommodating both standard passenger cars and longer-wheelbase trucks on the same lift without configuration changes.

A hybrid 2-post lift combines asymmetric column rotation for passenger-car door clearance with extended swing arms that reach the longer wheelbases of full-size trucks. Standard asymmetric lifts are optimized for shorter passenger cars; hybrid designs extend that working envelope to cover trucks without requiring arm swaps or a separate lift.

Hybrid 2-post lifts are designed for shops that regularly service both standard passenger cars and full-size light trucks in the same bay. If your workload includes a mix of sedans, crossovers, and extended or
crew-cab pickups, a hybrid avoids needing separate asymmetric and symmetric lifts for different vehicle types.

Hybrid 2-post lifts here run from 10,000 to 15,000 lbs — covering all passenger cars, crossovers, and full-size half-ton light trucks. Vehicles with a gross vehicle weight above 12,000 lbs require a heavy-duty 2-post or a commercial 4-post configuration.

A standard asymmetric lift excels with passenger cars but has limited arm reach for long-wheelbase trucks. A symmetric model handles trucks well but reduces door clearance on shorter vehicles. A hybrid splits the difference with wider arm reach and asymmetric positioning for mixed-fleet bays, typically at a modest premium over single-configuration models.

Some hybrid models carry ALI Gold Label certification. Check the ALI badge on individual product listings before purchasing. ALI certifies specific model-and-capacity combinations individually, so verify listings for each model rather than assuming certification applies to all hybrid configurations in the collection.

Hybrid 2-post lifts require 11 to 12 feet of ceiling clearance and a minimum of 4 inches of 3,000 PSI concrete — the same as standard overhead 2-post models. Extended-arm models may have slightly larger anchor footprints. Always verify the installation specification sheet for the specific model before beginning site preparation.

In most cases yes, though the anchor bolt pattern may differ between your existing lift and the new model. Drilling new anchors is straightforward if the concrete is in good condition. Alamo Equipment coordinates installation through our installer network and can advise on specific bay preparation requirements.
