The ML series is a broad line of reciprocating air compressors covering basic pump assemblies from roughly 5 HP through 30 HP alongside complete tank-mounted simplex packages, including Ultra Pack configurations with integrated air treatment.

The pump assemblies in this collection span approximately 5 to 30 HP across several pump models. Complete packaged units are commonly built on 120 gallon and larger receivers. Confirm the specific pump and package pairing on the model you are considering.

A basic pump is the compression assembly alone, ordered to rebuild or re-power an existing installation. A complete unit includes motor, receiver tank, and controls ready to pipe and wire. Match the pump model to your existing motor and drive if ordering a bare pump.

Ultra Pack packages integrate air treatment onto the compressor assembly rather than requiring it to be specified and piped separately. It saves installation labor and floor space, which matters most in a crowded equipment room.

Reciprocating compressors are generally rated for intermittent duty and need off time to cool. If your shop's air demand is genuinely continuous through a shift, a rotary screw is the correct machine. Alamo can help evaluate whether your actual duty cycle justifies moving to a screw compressor.

Baseplate configurations mount the pump and motor on a frame without a receiver tank, for installations feeding an existing tank or a system with remote air storage. Some baseplate models include an integrated aftercooler. This suits system upgrades where the existing tank is sound.

Larger ML units are generally specified for three-phase power at commercial voltages. Confirm voltage, phase, and full-load amperage on the specific model against your building service before ordering, and have an electrician verify the panel has capacity for the motor starting load rather than just the running current.

Change pump oil and inlet filters on schedule, drain the receiver daily or automatically, inspect and tension belts, keep cooling surfaces clean, and verify the safety relief valve annually. Log run hours if possible — maintenance intervals on these units are hour-based, not calendar-based.
