EV Battery & Powertrain Lifts
Specialized EV battery tables and powertrain lifts engineered for the high weight, awkward geometry, and safety requirements of electric vehicle battery service. This collection covers battery exchange tables, mid-rise EV-specific lift tables, and articulating powertrain supports from Mahle, APlusLift, Stratus and Atlas with capacities to 4,000+ lbs. Built for the unique torque, balance, and electrical isolation demands of EV service work — not adapted from ICE-era equipment. Alamo Equipment supports EV-ready facility buildouts nationwide.
EV Battery & Powertrain Lifts FAQs
EV battery and powertrain lifts are engineered for the unique weight, geometry, and safety requirements of electric vehicle battery service.
An EV battery lift (also called a battery exchange table) is a low-profile, articulating lift table designed to support an EV high-voltage battery during removal, service, or replacement. EV batteries are heavy (typically 1,000 to 2,500 lbs), large, and must be lowered straight down out of the vehicle to clear the battery mounting fasteners.
EV batteries are far heavier than a typical transmission and have a much larger surface area. They also require even, distributed support across their entire face — not the point-loading a transmission jack provides. Most transmission jacks lack the platform area and articulation needed for safe EV battery service.
Most EV battery tables in this collection are rated 1,500 to 4,000+ lbs. Higher-capacity industrial models exist for EV truck batteries and bus battery packs. Always confirm rated capacity against the heaviest battery you expect to service.
Most hybrid vehicles have smaller traction batteries (typically 100 to 400 lbs) that can be handled by a transmission jack or two technicians. Full plug-in hybrid and BEV (battery electric vehicle) packs require a dedicated EV battery lift due to size and weight.
A powertrain lift is a specialized lift table designed to support and lower the complete drive unit assembly — including motor, transaxle, and any subframe components — during EV service. They differ from battery tables in supporting the higher overall assembly height and providing pivot articulation for non-flat assemblies.
Look for high-voltage isolation in the lift structure (non-conductive contact surfaces), positive mechanical locks at every working height (not just hydraulic hold), pinch-prevention controls, and adequate working clearance to keep technicians away from battery terminals during lowering.
Most EV battery tables in this collection are adjustable to fit a wide range of EV battery pack dimensions. Some manufacturers offer model-specific adapters for Tesla, F-150 Lightning, Bolt, and other common service platforms. Always confirm compatibility with your service mix.
A safe EV battery service bay typically needs: an EV battery lift, a high-voltage personal protective equipment kit (Class 0 gloves, face shield), insulated tools, a high-voltage warning sign and barrier, and a battery storage area separate from the work bay. Alamo Equipment can help spec a complete EV-ready bay.
